[DRUG NAME] Generic name: Cilnidipine Tablets.

[INDICATIONS] The treatment of high blood pressure.

[DESCRIPTION] Light yellow tablets.

[PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY] The drug is a kind of dihydropyridines calcium antagonist. It can be combined with the fluazifop sites in L-type calcium channel on vascular smooth muscle cellular membrane, and inhibit the across membrane inflow of Ca2+ through L-type calcium channel, accordingly relax and expand vascular smooth muscles to reduce blood pressure. The product can also inhibit the arterenol releasing of sympathetic nerve end and sympathetic nerve activity by restraining the across membrane inflow of Ca2+ through N-type calcium channel on cellular membrane of sympathetoblast.

[DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION] For adults: One tablet (5mg) to be taken after breakfast once daily at the initial dose. Daily dose can be increased according to the patient's clinical response, and the maximum daily dose is two tablets (10mg) taken after breakfast once daily.

[ADVERSE REACTIONS] With mild and rare adverse reactions. Presenting symptoms are dizziness, headache, cardiopalmus, and puffiness, which can be tolerated by most patients, and no management should be taken.

[PRECAUTIONS] It is advisable for elderly patients to initiate therapy with small doses, and gradually decrease dose with careful symptom observation when drug withdrawing. Other drug is recommended when daily dose is decreased to 5mg. Drug withdraw should be directed by the physician.
